Role Summary: This role will lead the digital engineering initiatives within EWR, providing strategic leadership and oversight to ensure effective management of engineering information systems. This role will drive the integration of advanced digital solutions, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to align with EWR’s project objectives and priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing overall leadership, strategic direction, and management oversight for the digital engineering initiative.
- Lead the development and implementation of digital engineering strategies, ensuring they align with overall project goals and EWR priorities.
- Oversee the management of engineering information systems to ensure efficient data flow and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborate with and support internal stakeholders (e.g., Engineering Head of, Systems Engineering, Asset Management, Environmental, Land & Property and HSSQ) and partner development & information teams to ensure alignment with EWR objectives and priorities and integrate digital solutions into their workflows.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on digital engineering practices, including the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and other advanced technologies.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of engineering data throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of digital engineering processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Liaise with external partners and information teams to ensure seamless integration of digital engineering solutions and data sharing.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
- Extensive experience in digital engineering and information management within large-scale infrastructure or construction projects, preferably within the rail industry.
- Proven track record of leading digital engineering initiatives and managing complex data environments.
- Proven experience implementing BIM, CAD, and asset information management systems and standards (e.g. BS EN ISO 19650, UK BIM Framework).
- Strong technical expertise in Bentley Systems Infrastructure applications (e.g., ProjectWise, AssetWise, iTwin, Managed Workspaces, Deliverables Management) and data integration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
