SCOPE

To work with Project Managers and staff to assist with the coordination of passive fire projects. This is a key role supporting the growing number of fire stopping operators, direct employees and management. To plan and coordinate site setup and passive fire protection site specific details. To represent the values of the QSHE Compliance Department, championing quality, safety, health and environmental objectives at all times. To work with Joblogic and Northgate systems. Providing the Head of QSHE with good quality site-based information to determine levels of risk and compliance. Some familiarity of completing investigations and audits (internal and/or external). Accredited by Firas/Bluesky and work towards SMSTS and level 2 IFE in passive fire protection.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Extensive knowledge in passive fire stopping, fire doors, products and details.
  • A grasp of commercial management, contracts and construction management, technical services and practical knowledge of safe methods of working.
  • Knowledge of the processes involved in high quality maintenance contract management and delivery.
  • Knowledge of the EWC employee’s handbook, EWC policies and processes and EWC ISO system of works.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and good practice across the industry and identification of any areas where additional or updated training would be beneficial.
  • Understanding of the H&S at works act, current H&S legislation applicable to construction and the projects involved with.
  • Good knowledge of statutory compliance and requirements in accordance with maintenance and project works.
  • Hold a current CSCS card in passive Fire.
  • Hold a current SMSTS card.
  • Hold a current First Aid certificate.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with passive fire regulations and IT skills.
  • SMSTS on site.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Knowledge of working on large live projects.
  • Knowledge of fire stopping regulations.
  • Management.
  • IFE Level 2 in Passive Fire.

  • Ability to establish good relationships with internal and external team members.
  • Good levels of verbal and written communication skills.
  • A track record of building effective teams, forming positive and motivational relationships.
  • Research and reporting skills, able to review information and present it in an accessible way.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and use a range of digital packages to communicate strategic and operational information.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.

OTHER

The ability to travel to a range of sites. Appreciation that there might be out of hours working, agreed in advance.

DUTIES

  • To oversee the day to day operations on passive fire projects and ensure it is delivered in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Making sure that projects, documentation and records are available for inspection by Bluesky when necessary.
  • Provide first line support and technical guidance for passive fire operators.
  • Engage & provide support with all current clients.
  • Take regular tool box talks to passive fire operator team.
  • Support project teams, including those based at site, to comply with the full requirements of the Integrated Management System (IMS) and any additional client specifications within the scope of QSHE.
  • Ensure the company meets all variants of Passive Fire accreditation requirements as requested by the Directors and Head of QSHE Compliance.
  • To audit and evidence company practices, delivering continuous improvement across the compliance functions, specifically through regular auditing of compliance to the Fire safe systems of work, relevant documentation held on the IMS and associated standards.
  • Act as a champion of compliance, reinforce health, safety and welfare at all times and support colleagues across the business to meet the standards expected.
  • To interact in a helpful and polite manner when dealing with members of the public, visitors to the premises and during any personal interactions with staff members.
  • Advising customers on engineer attendance and rescheduling as required.
  • To represent the company in a positive and professional way at all times.
  • To uphold all the values of the company at all times.
  • Implement and comply with EWC policies, procedures, as generally set down by the ISO system of work, including business management systems, HR, IT, health and safety, environmental, communications and branding.
  • Meetings - To attend company staff meetings. To attend team meetings. Attend health and safety briefings when required.
