HVAC Engineer (Ventilation Bias) in London

To carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive callouts and minor projects on all associated equipment, general fault finding and repairs to assets and services.

To maintain up to date records of all work carried out on plant and equipment within the site manuals both hard copy files and electronically.

To participate within an out of normal working hours emergency call out rota and be flexible outside of core working hours.

To maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, customers and work as part of the EWC Team.

To deal courteously with clients, customers and the general public to maintain and enhance the reputation of EWC.

To continually demonstrate an understanding and commitment to customer care.

To ensure clear communication with customers, line management and office support staff.

Knowledge

• Proven experience in the ventilation industry, including ductwork or fire damper testing/remedials.
• Knowledge of TR19 guidelines and BSEN 15780.
• Comfortable working in and around plant rooms, at height, or in confined spaces.
• Fault finding, rectification, planned maintenance of split systems, multi systems and VRV systems.
• Service chillers, pumps and all associated chilled water pipework, air handling units, ventilation systems, VRV, VRF, multi and split type air conditioning units, stand-alone/close control units, dry air coolers controls & panels.
• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation, Safe Systems of Work and contingency planning.
• Ability to interpret from drawings, instructions and specifications.
• Good communicator, verbally and written, and have a good level of computer literacy and working knowledge of IT systems and packages that include MSN Office, Outlook & Internet Explorer.
• Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions and resolve problems within clearly defined parameters.

• NVQ Level 2/3 (C&G) Heating and Ventilating - Industrial and Commercial Installation or Heating and Ventilating - Ductwork Installation or Planned and Reactive Maintenance on Heating and Ventilating Systems or equivalent (E)
• Fault finding, rectification and planned maintenance experience. (E)
• Full driving licence (UK) (E)
• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation, Safe Systems of Work and contingency planning (E)
• Ability to interpret from drawings, instructions and specifications (E)
• Good communicator, verbally and written, and have a good level of computer literacy and working knowledge of IT systems and packages that include MSN Office, Outlook & Internet Explorer. (E)

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning/City & Guilds 2079 – Handling Refrigerants or F-Gas (Category I) certification (D)
• Substantial practical experience: - have experience of mechanical services, plumbing and heating maintenance on domestic/industrial/commercial systems. (D)
• Also experience of mechanical maintenance and repairs.
• Enhanced DBS Check will be completed by EWC (D)
• Position involves work in confined spaces (D)
• City & Guilds 2365 or 2357 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (D)

Skills

• Substantial practical experience required: maintenance in a domestic/industrial/commercial scenario.
• Must have relevant mechanical qualifications.

• Full - Clean driving licence that enables the person to drive in the UK.

• Out of Hours Rota 'on-call' work.
• To develop an extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical building services and a good understanding of their interfaces with general building works associated with them.
• To gain knowledge of the EWC employee’s handbook, EWC policies and processes and EWC ISO system of works.
