SCOPE
Support Construction Team: role will support the Construction Project Manager in delivering safe, compliant, and well-coordinated site operations. This role involves assisting with all construction based activities in the maintenance department but with a specific focus on fall protection testing and inspections, carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) visits, and ensuring that all site activities follow company procedures and health and safety standards. This role will need additional training to demonstrate competence under the BS7883 methodology and how to interpret BS795 personal fall protection equipment.
Minimum Qualifications For This Role Are
- GCSE qualification as minimum requirement (E)
- Good verbal, written, and electronic communication skills (E)
- Ability to apply basic problem-solving skills to a variety of situations.
- SSSTS or SMSTS (D)
- CSCS card (D)
- First aid awareness (D)
Skills
- Reading drawings and specifications.
- Understanding CPP/RAMS
- Basic project planning and sequencing of works.
- Health & safety COSHH, PPE, manual handling Asbestos awareness.
- Construction processes — general maintenance and construction activities and supervision of contractors.
- Communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and teamwork.

- The ability to travel to a range of sites.
- Appreciation that there might be out of hours working, agreed in advance.
DUTIES
- Paperwork, planning, and basic coordination.
- Attend site meetings: Take notes, observe, and gradually contribute input.
- Monitor site activity: Keep an eye on contractor attendance, delivery schedules, and basic health & safety compliance.
- Report issues: Flag any concerns or delays to line manager.
- Keep records: Assist in documenting progress, photos of work, site diaries, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Learn the standards: construction regulations, building codes, and safety protocols.
- Walk the site understand snagging, quality checks, and sign offs.
- A point of contact for operatives, suppliers, and sometimes residents or clients.
