Locum Consultant Histopathology – Gynaecological Histology

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT) is seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Histopathologist to join a friendly, efficient team of six Histopathologists on a 10 Programmed Activity per week basis.

The post holder will play an active role in the general workload of the department, with a specialist interest in reporting gynaecological histology. The successful candidate will join an impressive team dedicated to providing a first‑class, patient‑centred service.

Responsibilities

• Provide a first‑class service.
• Lead all staff engaged in the speciality.
• Sustain and develop teaching at ESHT.
• Undertake work in accordance with the Trust’s procedures and operating policies.
• Conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and the Trust’s service plans.
• Carry out continuing professional development related to the role, including gynaecological EQA and E‑Learning.
• Attend colposcopy MDT as a minimum, and attend gynaecological MDT if desired.
• Participate in the coronial autopsy service (optional).

Eligibility

Applicable to either a first‑time consultant or an established consultant Histopathologist wishing to relocate. Candidates unable to work full‑time for personal reasons will be considered.
