Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Elective Outpatient Booking Manager within our Cardiology Department. The post will be based at Eastbourne District General Hospital but will also include some cross-site working. We welcome applications from enthusiastic, motivated, and conscientious individuals with excellent interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
You will need to understand organisational and departmental objectives and be experienced in working within a multi-disciplinary team. Knowledge of national performance targets and strong leadership qualities are essential. You should be a team player, capable of managing your workload, balancing tact and assertiveness, and working calmly in a busy environment. Cardiology knowledge and supervisory skills are desirable.

Qualifications
- Good general education, including Maths and English
- Management qualification (Diploma/NVQ 3/4) or equivalent experience
Experience
- Proven administration experience within the NHS or similar large organization
- Previous managerial experience, including staff management and development
- Experience working in a busy environment with competing demands
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Understanding of national targets and booking initiatives
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and external contacts
- Ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- Initiative and teamwork skills
- Discretion and confidentiality
- Proficiency in IT, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
