We're looking for an experienced and passionate Wellbeing Lead to help shape the future of employee wellbeing at East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service. This is an exciting opportunity to review our current wellbeing provision and develop a modern, sustainable approach that reflects the needs of our workforce.
As the Service's wellbeing specialist, you will lead a comprehensive review of existing wellbeing support, identify gaps and opportunities, and develop new initiatives with a strong focus on:
- Mental health and psychological wellbeing
- Early intervention and preventative support
- Trauma-informed and inclusive practices
- Building trust and visibility across Stations, Watches and enabling staff teams
- Improving attendance and employee wellbeing outcomes
- Strengthen the prevention and management of stress
- Supporting both operational and support staff
- Delivering engaging wellbeing education and awareness sessions
You will work closely with leaders, managers and employees across the Service to create a positive and psychologically safe working environment, while ensuring our wellbeing offer is evidence-based and aligned to organisational needs. This is not a role centred on standalone wellbeing activities. You will examine the organisational conditions affecting workforce wellbeing, strengthen the Service's approach to psychosocial risk and help leaders translate evidence into practical, measurable change.
About you: You will have experience in a wellbeing, mental health, HR or organisational development role, along with the ability to influence change and engage stakeholders at all levels. Experience of developing wellbeing initiatives, analysing data and supporting workplace mental health is essential.
