You will be vital to our team who provide support to adults with a learning disability within our day service in Bexhill. Your work will have a real and positive impact on the lives of the people who attend the service and in return we can offer you a rewarding and fulfilling career.

As a Support Worker, you will support people with timetabled activities to promote friendships, teach independence skills and involve people in their local community.

Our team of Support Workers provide a service to clients from 8.30am to 7pm, four days a week, on Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays & Fridays on a rota basis and you will be able to bring your own skills and interest into the activities the service offers. This role includes supporting groups of people within the service and in the community to participate in learning, health and wellbeing activities on a planned basis.

As a Support Worker, within Day Services, you can make a real difference to a person’s day by providing practical assistance to clients by helping them make friends and develop social networks along with tasks such as support when eating or maintaining a standard of personal hygiene. You will also be there to provide emotional support to promote client’s health and mental wellbeing.

This role is for 30 hrs per week and so the salary will be paid on a pro rata basis. The actual salary therefore is £21,072 to £21,407 per annum or £13.50 to £13.72 per hour.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Can converse and are at ease with clients and their advocates
  • Can work effectively, both within the team and independently
  • Will support with personal care, medication administration, and other health related tasks
  • Have Level 1 in Maths and English or ability to pass assessment as part of the selection process

Within your application and at interview, you will be able to confidently demonstrate:

  • How you provide support respectively and sensitively.
  • Have patience and understanding when providing support.
  • How you record information accurately
