We are recruiting to an Occupational Therapy Assistant in each of our Occupational Therapy Teams, located in Lewes, Eastbourne and Hastings.

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you can make a real difference to a person’s life whether that be in a clinic environment or in the community visiting people in their homes.

East Sussex County Council (ESCC) is working to increase its integrated approach to the delivery of health and social care services. ESCC Occupational Therapy Services is looking for Occupational Therapy Assistants to be part of this process.

The role will include assessing Adults in line with the Care Act. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will have a pivotal role in the well-being agenda and inform the interventions needed to meet clients\’ and carers assessed eligible needs. You will manage and reduce risks, allowing clients to remain as safe as possible in their own homes, using a reablement approach.

The role will involve using a range of strength-based solutions to enhance independence and reduce risk – including daily living equipment, minor housing adaptations and joint working with partner agencies.

We will support you to develop the skills you’ll need to manage the challenges of this role within a learning environment built on a culture of continual professional development.
