Are you a general practice surveyor? Are you a member of RICS or working towards qualification? If you want to support the Council\โ€™s diverse portfolio, using your expertise and technical skills to best manage and enhance the Estate, this might be the role for you.

The role requires a technical and confident ability to deal with Landlord and Tenant transactions, acquisition and disposal of property, as well as general property management activities such as the setting and maintaining of service charge budgets. The role will include managing a caseload, covering a wide variety of landlord and tenant matters including property management tasks such as service charge management, through to rent reviews and lease renewals. Undertaking and assisting with negotiations on all leases, licences, easements and other property transactions including land assembly compulsory purchase. Working with external and internal clients, providing good quality and reasoned technical property advice upon which informed decisions can be taken, representing internal clients where appropriate.

A market supplement payment of up to ยฃ8,750 is payable in addition to the substantive salary for a period of two years, after which it will be reviewed.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are a qualified RICS Surveyor (ideally MRICS or FRICS), or working towards qualification
  • Have an ability to adapt to changing situations in a measured, flexible manner
  • Have experience in dealing with a wide range of property matters and delivering results
  • Have an ability to demonstrate and apply commercial awareness to a range of property scenarios
  • Are committed to professional development
