We are seeking a Senior Business Administrator to join our Neighbourhood Support Team and Countywide Reviewing Team within Adult Social Care Services in East Sussex. If you are passionate about making a positive impact and thrive in a collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you.

The role is based at Cavendish House in Hastings town centre. As Senior Business Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the day‑to‑day administrative functions of the service. You will also undertake ad‑hoc duties that contribute to the efficient and effective running of the service, helping teams deliver high‑quality support to some of the most vulnerable adults in our community.

Administrative support is fundamental to the successful delivery of services. In this role, you will ensure that client enquiries are handled promptly, that accurate and up‑to‑date records are maintained and colleagues receive the support necessary to carry out their roles effectively.

You will develop a strong understanding of the team’s functions and the positive impact they have on people’s lives. Working collaboratively is essential as you will be required to anticipate and respond to the needs of team members, whether they are office‑based, working remotely or operating within the community.

You will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support to carry out this aspect of the role and will be held to high standards to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable adults.

The ideal candidate for this key role will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Proven ability to motivate both themselves, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures, and completion of all mandatory training requirements.
  • Undertake minutes of complex meetings about vulnerable clients. Minute, produce and distribute accurate records of meetings, including safeguarding, best interest meetings and/or case conference and complex case meetings, in accordance with statutory and local guidance.
  • A strong commitment to delivering high-quality work, consistently meeting or exceeding deadlines without compromising accuracy or standards.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams within the service, providing effective support to the Office Manager, Operations Manager, and Practice Managers.
  • A solid working knowledge of email and word-processing software, including Microsoft 365. Extensive use of Microsoft Excel is required; therefore, strong Excel skills—including the ability to create reports using formulas to capture and analyse key service data—are essential.

This post is for a part time position on the team of 14.5 hours per week and the hours will be worked as:

  • Wednesday 8:30am – 17:00 pm (7.5 hrs)
  • Fridays 8:30am – 16:30pm (7 hrs)

Interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams within three weeks of the closing date. Our interview panel will consist of:
  • Matthew Cray, Office Manager
  • Aleksandra Lozina, Senior Resource Officer
Interviews will last approximately one hour. As part of the assessment, candidates will be required to complete a short minute-taking exercise. This will involve watching a brief video of a meeting and producing a written Word document that accurately captures the key discussions, decisions, and actions raised during the meeting.
