Are you an experienced care or housing worker who is looking for the next step in your career? We are looking for a Resource Officer to join our busy, supportive Neighbourhood Support Team covering the whole of the Hastings and Rother area. The work is fast paced and we cover a diverse mixture of adults with very varying needs.

As an experienced worker in the care or housing sector, you will need to be confident and competent in your practice. You will be visiting people in their own homes, assessing their needs, liaising extensively with other professionals and setting up services which you will then review. Your role will also include assessing mental capacity and safeguarding adults from 18 years with diverse needs and supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a good working Knowledge of assessment under the Care Act, including safeguarding policies and procedures and assessment under the Mental Capacity Act. Further training will be provided.
  • Ability to prioritise work and use evidence to make decisions
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the role. You will be required to travel across East Sussex, including rural areas.

A Level 4 Adult Care qualification would be advantageous. If not already completed, the successful candidate will need to be willing to complete the Lead Practitioner in Social Care (Level 4) apprenticeship which will be funded by the Council.
