The Revenue Team plays a key role in supporting people to understand and manage their contributions towards the cost of their care. We work with people to ensure care charges are affordable and provide support, so non-payment of contributions is managed appropriately, and vital services remain sustainable.
You will be responsible for carrying out detailed assessments and reviews, helping to ensure that care charges are fair and manageable. You will support revenue recovery and debt resolution, working sensitively with individuals to reach practical and realistic outcomes.
The role involves working alongside people who receive Adult Social Care services, this will include visiting people in their own home; you will need to be able to meet the countywide travel requirements of the role.
You will work closely with Adult Social Care & Health colleagues to achieve best outcomes for people, providing detailed advice and guidance to people, partner organisations and others on revenue processes, debt recovery and the Care Act.
We are looking for candidates that can:
- Provide effective customer service, providing clear and succinct advice, responding appropriately to customers’ needs
- Communicate effectively with a range of people in a clear, concise and accurate manner
- Demonstrate knowledge of debt recovery processes, money advice services, budgeting and financial and account procedures
- Plan and organise a varied workload for self and others, working to short deadlines. Adapt to changing demands and work practices and meet tight deadlines

Candidates who meet certain criteria are given priority when we shortlist. We offer hybrid working for this role, under our current arrangements you will need to attend our office in Eastbourne a minimum of one day a week - please note this is open to change. On other days you will be visiting people we support or working from home, you will need an appropriate space to be able to work effectively – a hybrid working kit will be provided.
During your training and induction period you will need to attend the office daily initially, so we can give you the best support and learning opportunities.
