Are you passionate about computing and excited to share your knowledge with the next generation? Do you want to help learners build the practical digital skills they need for further study and careers in the technology sector? We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Computing Lecturer to join our curriculum team at the Ore Campus. You will teach a broad range of computing subjects to post-16 & HE learners, combining strong subject knowledge with engaging, practical teaching. Depending on curriculum need, this may include areas such as programming, cyber security, networking, web development, databases and wider digital technologies. You will play an important role in developing learners' technical skills, confidence and readiness for further study or employment.

This exciting role will include:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and practical lessons across a range of computing and digital subjects, adapting teaching to meet different learner needs.
  • Develop learners' technical knowledge and practical skills through relevant, real-world activities and projects across the computing curriculum.
  • Assess learner work, provide clear and constructive feedback, monitor progress and support learners to achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement and wider team activities, while supporting learners' progression into higher study, apprenticeships or employment.

If you can demonstrate the following then we’d love to hear from you:

  • Strong and current knowledge of computing and digital technologies, supported by a relevant qualification and/or substantial industry experience.
  • The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and bring computing to life through engaging, practical and real-world examples.
  • Confidence across more than one area of computing, with a willingness to continue developing your technical and teaching knowledge.
  • A positive, learner-focused approach with a commitment to inclusive teaching, safeguarding, teamwork and helping young people succeed.
