We are currently seeking a Science Technician (Chemistry Specialist) to support the delivery of A Level Chemistry, alongside Biology, Physics, and BTEC Applied Science. Chemistry will be your primary area of focus, and you will play a key role in preparing and maintaining specialist equipment and materials to support high-quality practical teaching.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and setting up practical experiments, with a particular focus on A Level Chemistry
- Maintaining laboratory equipment and managing chemical stock safely and effectively
- Supporting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, including safe chemical storage
- Assisting with educational trips and practical assessments
- Contributing to the organisation, upkeep and smooth operation of three well‑equipped science laboratories
- Working collaboratively with a team of four experienced teaching staff to support outstanding student outcomes

Qualifications & Experience
- Recent experience working as a Science Technician or within a laboratory, school, college, or similar educational or scientific setting (desirable)
- Strong practical knowledge of Chemistry
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and proactively
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety
- A degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific qualification (desirable)

Annual salary: Circa £24,900 Full Time Equivalent (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience – pro rata based on hours and weeks worked)
Hours: Part‑time, 30 hours per week, 36 weeks per year (TTO)
