East Sussex College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced WBL Care Assessor to join our team on a temporary basis, providing cover for a period of long-term sickness. Working within our apprenticeship and work-based learning team, you will support learners across the Health & Social Care sector, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to successfully complete their qualifications and End Point Assessment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced assessor with a strong understanding of work-based learning and the Care sector, who is passionate about supporting learners and building strong employer relationships.
This exciting role will include:
- Assessing and supporting learners undertaking Care and Health & Social Care qualifications and apprenticeships.
- Planning and carrying out effective workplace and remote assessments.
- Monitoring learner progress, providing constructive feedback and helping learners overcome barriers to achievement.
- Working closely with employers and workplace supervisors to ensure learners receive high-quality support throughout their programme.
If you can demonstrate the following, then we'd love to hear from you:
- A relevant Level 3 qualification (or above) in Health & Social Care, Care or a related subject.
- Experience of assessing learners in the workplace and/or a recognised assessor qualification such as TAQA, CAVA, A1/D32/D33 (or willingness to work towards one).
- A good understanding of apprenticeship standards and work-based learning programmes.
- Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, with the ability to manage a caseload effectively.

Annual Salary: Circa Β£32,600 FTE
Hours: 37 hours per week, Fixed Term Contract until 18/12/2026
