Do you want to help learners develop the practical skills and industry knowledge needed for a successful career in roofing?

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Roofing Apprentice Lecturer to join our team.

The successful candidate will have strong industry knowledge and competency and the enthusiasm to motivate learners to achieve excellence in roofing and construction as well as playing a key role in enhancing the quality of our programmes and overall learner experience.

This exciting role will include

  • Supporting East Sussex College’s reputation as a leading provider of Roofing and Construction training.
  • Designing and delivering high-quality learning that develops the knowledge, skills and behaviours required in modern roofing.
  • Delivering engaging teaching, coaching and assessment using current industry practices and technologies.
  • Supporting learners to achieve, progress and successfully complete End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Monitoring progress, providing feedback and celebrating learner success.
  • Working with employers to ensure training reflects current industry needs and standards.
  • Promoting a safe, supportive learning environment and best practice in health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Ensuring delivery meets awarding body, industry and college requirements.
  • Maintaining up-to-date industry knowledge through continuous professional development.
  • Motivating learners to achieve their goals and fulfil their potential.
  • Contributing to quality improvement and supporting the college’s commitment to excellence.

If you can demonstrate the following, we'd love to hear from you

  • Strong occupational competence in Roofing.
  • Level 3 Roofing qualification (desirable).
  • Teaching qualification (e. g. Cert Ed, PGCE, AET/CET/DET) (desirable).
  • TAQA Assessor qualification or equivalent (A1/D32/D33) (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Roofing apprenticeship standards and EPA requirements (desirable).
  • Strong practical roofing skills and current industry knowledge.
  • Ability to engage, motivate and support learners.
  • Understanding of employer and workforce skills needs.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to build positive employer and industry relationships.
  • Willingness to travel and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and IT skills, including e-portfolio systems (desirable).

Interview Date: w/c 31st August 2026.

College location

Based at our Eastbourne with a view that the provision will move to Lewes in the future.

Annual salary: Circa £32 - £45 per hours including holiday rate.
