We are seeking knowledgeable and motivated individuals from a range of construction trades to join our team on a sessional basis to support with cover and potentially ongoing opportunities. Working alongside teaching staff, you will support learners as they develop the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed in the construction industry.
You will assist in preparing workshops, setting up materials and equipment, maintaining a safe and organised learning environment, and providing hands-on coaching and support to students during practical sessions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with industry experience who is interested in bringing their expertise into education and making a positive impact on learners' futures.
About the Role
This is a sessional position, with flexible hours based on curriculum needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching staff within classroom and workshop environments.
- Prepare workshop areas, materials, tools, and equipment for practical sessions.
- Assist with the delivery of practical learning activities across a range of construction trades.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and encouragement to students.
- Promote safe working practices and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Support learners in developing industry-relevant skills and achieving their qualifications.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Industry experience in one or more construction trades.
- Relevant vocational qualifications, such as City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent.
- Strong practical skills and current industry knowledge.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for supporting and developing learners.
- An interest in working within the education and training sector.

College location: Based at our Eastbourne Campus.
Annual salary: Circa Β£15-Β£16 per hour inclusive of holiday pay.
