Sessional Teacher - Hairdressing in Eastbourne

East Sussex College is looking to expand our bank staff and are looking for an enthusiastic and industry-experienced Sessional Lecturer in Hairdressing to join our successful Hair and Beauty team at our Eastbourne Campus.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified hairdressing professional who is passionate about sharing their expertise and helping learners develop the technical, professional, and employability skills required to succeed within the hairdressing industry.

What You'll Do

• Deliver engaging and inspiring hairdressing sessions to learners across a range of programmes.
• Support students to develop practical salon skills, industry knowledge, and professional behaviours.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback to help students achieve their full potential.
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes high expectations and industry standards.
• Support the wider curriculum team in preparing learners for employment, apprenticeships, and further study.

What We're Looking For

• A recognised Level 3 qualification (or above) in Hairdressing.
• Relevant and up-to-date industry experience.
• Excellent practical skills and knowledge of current industry trends and techniques.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and adults.
• For many of our teaching roles, we welcome applications from candidates at any stage of their career, including industry professionals with no/limited teaching experience. We are able to offer teacher development & qualifications to enable teaching success.

College location: Based at our Eastbourne Campus.

Annual salary: Circa £33 - £47 per hour including holiday/planning rates.

(Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)

Hours: Sessional – currently speculative.
