East Sussex College is looking to expand our bank staff and are looking for an enthusiastic and industry-experienced Sessional Lecturer in Hairdressing to join our successful Hair and Beauty team at our Eastbourne Campus.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified hairdressing professional who is passionate about sharing their expertise and helping learners develop the technical, professional, and employability skills required to succeed within the hairdressing industry.
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging and inspiring hairdressing sessions to learners across a range of programmes.
- Support students to develop practical salon skills, industry knowledge, and professional behaviours.
- Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback to help students achieve their full potential.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes high expectations and industry standards.
- Support the wider curriculum team in preparing learners for employment, apprenticeships, and further study.
What We're Looking For
- A recognised Level 3 qualification (or above) in Hairdressing.
- Relevant and up-to-date industry experience.
- Excellent practical skills and knowledge of current industry trends and techniques.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and adults.
- For many of our teaching roles, we welcome applications from candidates at any stage of their career, including industry professionals with no/limited teaching experience. We are able to offer teacher development & qualifications to enable teaching success.

College location: Based at our Eastbourne Campus.
Annual salary: Circa Β£33 - Β£47 per hour including holiday/planning rates.

Hours: Sessional β currently speculative.
