Inspire Young People Through Food and Hospitality
East Sussex College is looking to expand our bank staff and are looking for an enthusiastic and industry-experienced Sessional Lecturer to join our Future College Programme. This exciting provision supports young people to develop independence, employability skills, and confidence through practical, hands‑on learning experiences.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging catering sessions that introduce students to food preparation, kitchen safety, customer service, healthy eating, and hospitality‑related skills within a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver practical catering and hospitality sessions to small groups of learners.
- Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support learners to develop confidence, independence, and employability skills.
- Ensure safe working practices are maintained within the kitchen environment.
- Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Work collaboratively with learning support staff and programme teams.
About You
- Hold relevant catering or hospitality industry qualifications and experience.
- Have experience working with young people or adults in an educational, training, or community setting.
- Be passionate about helping learners develop practical life and employability skills.
- Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
- For many of our teaching roles, we welcome applications from candidates at any stage of their career, including industry professionals with no/limited teaching experience. We are able to offer teacher development & qualifications to enable teaching success.

College location: Based at our Eastbourne Campus.
Annual salary: Circa £33 - £47 per hour including holiday/planning rates.

Hours: Sessional – currently speculative.
