Responsibilities

  • Providing mentoring and pastoral support to students who may be experiencing personal, social, or emotional difficulties.
  • Supporting the safeguarding and wellbeing of students, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, and external agencies to create tailored support plans.
  • Promoting resilience, self‑esteem, and positive mental health among students.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young people in an educational, social care, or support setting.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding practices and child protection.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and non‑judgmental approach.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.

Closing date: Sunday 4th January 2026

Interview date: Week commencing 12th January 2026

College location: Based at our Eastbourne Campus

Annual salary: Circa £24,900 Full Time Equivalent (pro rata for term time only)

Hours: Part time 24 hours / 34 weeks
