We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self‑motivated Library Advisor who has strong IT skills and a passion for literacy. You will work as part of the library team at Eastbourne whose primary focus is ensuring equal access to books, resources, IT and a safe space for students to learn and unwind in. The library team prides itself on providing a safe and inclusive service that is designed to meet the needs of the whole college community.
Responsibilities
- Delivering excellent front‑line customer service and responding to a wide range of library and IT‑related enquiries.
- Supporting students to access library resources, use online systems and develop their digital skills using Microsoft 365 and Google applications.
- Promoting reading, literacy and independent learning through displays, activities and one‑to‑one support.
- Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and welcoming study environment where all students can thrive.
Qualifications
- Level 2 English and Maths and a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365 and cloud‑based applications such as Google Drive and Google Classroom.
- The ability to troubleshoot basic IT issues, manage competing priorities and work effectively as part of a busy team.
