Are you looking for a role where you can make a real difference to students' learning and wellbeing every day? Do you enjoy providing excellent customer service and helping others make the most of technology, resources and opportunities? We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self‑motivated Library Advisor who has strong IT skills and a passion for literacy. You will work as part of the library team at Eastbourne whose primary focus is ensuring equal access to books, resources, IT and a safe space for students to learn and unwind in. The library team prides itself on providing a safe and inclusive service that is designed to meet the needs of the whole college community.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering excellent front‑line customer service and responding to a wide range of library and IT‑related enquiries.
  • Supporting students to access library resources, use online systems and develop their digital skills using Microsoft 365 and Google applications.
  • Promoting reading, literacy and independent learning through displays, activities and one‑to‑one support.
  • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and welcoming study environment where all students can thrive.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 English and Maths and a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365 and cloud‑based applications such as Google Drive and Google Classroom.
  • The ability to troubleshoot basic IT issues, manage competing priorities and work effectively as part of a busy team.
