Campus Support Officer in Eastbourne

Are you a people person who enjoys interacting with a variety of people? Do you want to play a role in supporting young people in Eastbourne and the surrounding area? The Personal Development and Wellbeing Team based at our Eastbourne campus are seeking a new team member to take on the highly active role of Campus Support Officer.

The successful applicant will work closely with a variety of teams, notably security, reception, facilities, safeguarding and curriculum, acting as a 'first response' to incidents on campus. The CSO key responsibilities include getting to know the student body and applying an approachable stance to challenging poor behaviour and addressing wellbeing concerns. The CSO works alongside the wider wellbeing team and identifies students who may require wellbeing or safeguarding support, ensuring good records are made. In addition, they will also support their own caseload of students.

Wider responsibilities include supporting curriculum in addressing behaviour concerns or non-attendance to lessons and acting as a point of contact for external agencies and the local community.

If you can demonstrate the following, then we’d love to hear from you:

• Have skills in de-escalation and be confident in addressing behaviour or wellbeing concerns.
• Enjoy a role where flexibility and adaptability are key - your working days will include unstructured time, and you will be expected to respond to requests / concerns as they arise.
• Be a people person who enjoys problem solving and have the skills and confidence to be self‑motivated and proactive.
• Have experience in being in supportive roles and be willing to be a campus first aider and fire warden.
• Have resilience and a good sense of humour.
