College location: East Surrey College (Redhill) and John Ruskin College (Selsdon)

Hours: Full time (37 hours/week) 08:45-17:00 Monday - Friday

Are you a passionate IT professional ready to make a real impact in education? We’re looking for an ambitious and proactive IT Manager to drive innovation, support cutting‑edge technology, and help deliver an outstanding digital experience across our College Group. This is an exciting opportunity to lead day‑to‑day IT operations, work closely with our Managed Service Provider (MSP), and play a key role in delivering our ICT Strategic Plan. From maintaining high‑performing networks and secure systems to supporting modern teaching environments and specialist exam setups, no two days are the same. You’ll lead and inspire a dedicated IT team, oversee infrastructure improvements, champion service excellence, and help create a technology‑rich environment that supports both staff and students to thrive.

Key responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of the College Group ICT Strategic Plan and agreed service levels.
  • Work closely with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure smooth and effective IT service delivery.
  • Lead, supervise and support the IT team, including workload planning and staff development.
  • Monitor and maintain network performance, security, backups and system upgrades.
  • Manage the deployment, maintenance and auditing of IT hardware and software.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, software licensing and operational procedures.
  • Provide hands‑on technical support and coordinate repairs, installations and upgrades.

The successful candidate must have MCSE qualification or equivalent, Computer based degree or equivalent in computer engineering or relevant field. Experience working within an education environment is desirable. 3rd line technical knowledge with excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
