The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.
This is a part time role working 4 days a week. We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Science Lecturer to join our Professional and Services Industries department to deliver teaching and learning across Levels 2-3 BTEC Applied Science courses. In this exciting role you will be responsible to plan learning programmes for groups of students, guide them through the learning process and undertake assessment on an agreed range of programmes.
Working closely with the Director of Learning and the rest of the team, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and skills with students to help them achieve at the highest level as well as driving continuous improvement within the College. You will act as a personal tutor giving pastoral care, promote attendance, support students to attain suitable work placements, participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning, development and review activities within your subject area.
Qualifications:
- A teaching qualification (at ideally level 5 or above such as a PGCE, DET/DTLLS or Cert ED)
- Relevant FE teaching and assessing experience across BTEC levels 2 - 4
- A Science based degree (ideally Chemistry)
- Experience of tutoring and pastoral care for 16-19 in the FE sector
- BTEC internal verification experience
- Relevant industry experience
- Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent
It is also highly desirable that you hold the Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement and also desirable for you to also hold a Certificate/Award in Internal Quality Assurance (if old qualifications are held (e.g. A1 or V1) it is essential that you are willing to update to the new standards).
