Orbital South Colleges is looking for a committed and energetic Practical Instructor in Animal Management to join our welcoming and forward‑thinking team. This role is perfect for someone who loves working directly with animals and enjoys being part of an educational environment. As a Practical Instructor, you will help bring our Animal Management curriculum to life. You’ll run engaging practical sessions that develop core industry skills, including safe handling, husbandry routines, feeding and enrichment activities, and general day‑to‑day care. Working closely with teaching staff, you’ll guide students through practical tasks, support their learning, and help them grow into capable and confident animal professionals. You will also take responsibility for maintaining high standards of animal welfare within the collection, ensuring that all health and safety procedures are followed during every activity.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Level 3 qualification or higher in an animal care discipline e.g. City & Guilds or BTEC Diploma / Extended Diploma
  • Ability to instruct and assess practical skills in Animal Management and Care
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of animal care, welfare, and ethical conduct.
  • Minimum Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent
