Specialist Accountant – Project and Fixed Assets

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Authority’s Fixed Asset Register ensuring full technical compliance, including all relevant entries and sections for the Statement of Accounts.
  • Lead and represent the Council on key fixed asset accounting workstreams, ensuring full technical compliance with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Implement changes impacting the Council’s Asset Register and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Contribute to corporate initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, financial legislation, and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver the service professionally in accordance with statutory requirements and policies.
  • What you will need
  • CCAB qualification preferred; significant experience in a similar role with a desire to achieve qualifications considered.
  • Advanced technical knowledge and experience in Local Authority fixed asset accounting, with experience in improving controls and processes.
  • Experience delivering successful operations within a changing environment and ability to handle complex financial reporting issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and political awareness to interact with stakeholders across all levels.
