We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Energy Projects Team as a Funding Officer.
The role
Supporting the Project Manager for Energy Projects, you will manage, monitor and report on the funding associated with Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) within the district, providing advice, guidance and support to associated officers, service managers, and senior management.
You will be responsible for the sound management of funding provided to the Council under Planning Performance Agreements, planning obligations, community benefit agreements and the Sizewell C Deed of Obligation. This will include working with finance colleagues and supporting with the management of this funding across the organisation, providing accurate financial information to support decision making and ensure compliance with funding agreements and corporate requirements.
Working co-operatively and collaboratively with colleagues across the Council, you will support the delivery of energy projects, ensuring that funding is correctly managed to meet the stated objectives of the Council within statutory and corporate deadlines.
What You Will Need
- Experience of managing project funding, budgets and expenditure, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyse information and arrive at timely and considered decisions.
- You will have demonstrable operational experience in a similar role and hold relevant qualifications or be willing and able to obtain them.
- You will have experience of using appropriate accounting tools and applications, such as financial ledgers, Excel, financial modelling and financial appraisal.
- A diplomatic and confident influencer, you will have the ability to build excellent working relationships both across the Council, as well as with external stakeholders as needed, and be able to clearly communicate financial information to non-financial managers in a manner that aids decision making.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise to meet competing deadlines and work well under pressure is essential.
