East Suffolk Council are looking for a Assistant Director – Operations to join our team working between Lowestoft and Woodbridge. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £71,342 per annum. East Suffolk Services is a lively and fast paced place to work. This role will be responsible for waste collection, street cleaning, grounds maintenance and building cleaning and fleet, workshops and transport. As a business we also deliver parking enforcement, facilities management, CCTV and Home Alarms, cash collection, bereavement services and more Your role: The responsibilities within the role will be to lead the operational teams at a time of large-scale business change. Delivering new waste services, ensuring fleet procurement and compliance as well as developing opportunities in the grounds service are three key areas for this role. You will be comfortable with change and developing new ways of working to deliver results and overall business profitability. While supporting the Senior Leadership Team in ensuring we actively engage with our front-line teams while developing and delivering a program of improvement across the business. What you will need Our ideal candidate will be dynamic, with demonstrable senior management operational experience, with expertise and experience in delivering large frontline services and who is at home in a fast paced, commercial environment and can display a broad range of leadership styles to actively engage with established operational teams. You must be able to inspire others to achieve results with the ability to think and act at a strategic level. Possessing strong leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to delivering results and developing people.
