An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife to join our established team as the Patient Safety Midwife (with lead for patient experience).

This is a key role ensuring that the voice of women, birthing people and their families are central to the delivery of any changes within the maternity services to truly ensure that we are meeting the needs of our local community.

You will work collaboratively with other patient safety and risk management leads within the Women and Children\’s Division and Trust wide to promote a culture of safety and learning from experience and promote best practice.

This is part time role-15 hours per week.

  • To prepare reports and seek input from families and lead PMRT(perinatal mortality review tool) within the Trust
  • To act as lead link between Maternity and Neonatal Voice Partnerships, organising, attending and participating in meetings, embedding relationships with the MNVP as key stakeholders to service improvement;
  • To act as a conduit with the Maternity Neonatal Independent Senior Advocate
  • To work collaboratively with leadership team to identify learning needs and provide learning opportunities to facilitate change and performance improvement from patient and staff feedback;
  • To inspire and lead others to design and deliver the best experience to patients;
  • To understand and establish the most effective feedback mechanism for patient experience, generating meaningful actions to improve the care received by families;
  • Understand the requirement and wishes of women, birthing people and their families regarding their expectations, the information they wish to receive and the services provided;
