Weekend staff required to join an existing team supporting 3 ladies, with learning difficulties, live in their ISL home and the local community of Driffield. They enjoy an active varied life and are looking for additional staff to support them in this, as well as to broaden their experiences.
About us:
We are a cooperative of three families who joined together, through ERYC, to provide an Independent Supported Living home for our family members. We have been established for over 10 years in a lovely detached house in the centre of Driffield. The home offers a warm, supportive and active environment encouraging participation in the local and wider community.
About the role:
You will join an existing team of staff supporting the ladies with learning difficulties. They each have a varied range of things they enjoy doing within the home and the community such as walking, swimming, dancing, crafts, museums, art galleries, gardens and VW camper vans. The role is to help the ladies engage in these activities. Sharing some of your own interests with them and broadening their experience would be welcomed. Supporting with personal care within the home. The ability to prepare food and enabling the ladies to help with this is required. In addition, help them to maintain their home.
About you:
Experience of working with people who have learning difficulties is desirable. You should be able to work on a one to one basis or as part of a team. An enhanced DBS will be required. A driving licence would be an advantage.

- Every other Saturday and Sunday 9am - 4pm (Either one day or both)
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
The Direct Payments Support Service is an in-house service provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The service promotes independent choice and inclusion, allowing our service users to employ their own care and support as needed. We support many individuals with varying abilities, assisting with advertising and recruitment for a range of roles including support workers, carers and personal assistants.
