The job itself

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate teaching assistant to support a pupil with an Educational Health Care Plan.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner with strong inclusive values as well as a positive and flexible team player. They will have excellent knowledge, experience and understanding of the full primary age range and must have a significant interest in or experience of SEND.

Candidates must:

  • Be positive and confident in using your knowledge of current theory and practice in teaching and learning, and SEND.
  • Be ready to utilise the benefits of a curriculum that is innovative and flexible in terms of delivery and content.
  • Be able to manage and support children who may become dysregulated.
  • Be engaged with the school\’s ethos, thinking creatively and reflectively within an open and honest team, whilst keeping the needs of the pupils firmly at the centre.
  • Be able to share best practice and be flexible and compassionate.
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils and able to use a variety of strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Be enthusiastic, confident and able to use their initiative.
  • Be patient, empathetic and resilient.
  • Have good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Play a full part in the life of the school and be committed to working in partnership with staff and parents.

It is essential that the successful applicant is highly motivated and has the ambition and drive to enable every child to be the best that they can be and have a passion for improving the outcomes for children with additional needs.
