We are seeking a skilled, resilient and enthusiastic teacher to work with our post 16 pupils with a range of special educational needs. The post will be located at our Student Centre, based on the site of Driffield school and 6th form on Manorfield Road.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated, enthusiastic and proactive team of both teaching and non-teaching colleagues. The Senior Leadership Team looks forward to welcoming a child-centred teacher who has had experience of the primary curriculum and has a good understanding of the needs of pupils with SEND.
The class has a mix of pupils with a primary need of profound and complex learning difficulties alongside pupils with a primary communication and interaction need. Some understanding of the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis would be useful but not essential. The right candidate will be able to support our leavers to successfully transition into adulthood and identify the most appropriate destinations. They will be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external partners to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
The governors are keen to appoint someone who has the motivation, skills and qualities to achieve the best outcomes for our young people. Kings Mill School caters for children and young people with severe or complex learning disabilities, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care plan. Many learners have challenging behaviour, autism, sensory impairment, communication & physical difficulties. A few have degenerative conditions.
