An opportunity has arisen for a reliable and compassionate Personal Assistant / Carer to support a woman living in a bungalow in Wilberfoss with her husband, who works full‑time. The client is a full‑time wheelchair user and able to transfer independently. She has paraneoplastic cerebellar ataxia that affects balance, coordination, speech, and vision. The role involves providing practical day‑to‑day assistance to help maintain independence and a well‑run household.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing meals and assisting with general kitchen tasks.
  • Carrying out household duties including vacuuming, cleaning, laundry, ironing, and changing bed linen.
  • Supporting with administrative tasks such as making appointments, handling telephone calls, and completing forms.
  • Providing transport for weekly food shopping and attending appointments (e.g., hairdresser, dentist, GP).
  • Offering general support in maintaining an organised and comfortable home environment.
