East Riding of Yorkshire Council is recruiting a Childcare Solicitor/FILEX to join our Children and Community Law Team to meet the increasing demands of the service.
Reporting to the team manager, the role will support the Council in respect of primarily public law childcare proceedings and SEN Tribunals.
Responsibilities- advising Children\'s Social Care and SEND on legal issues,
- drafting court documentation,
- Deprivation of Liberty applications and Adoption,
- obtaining evidence,
- liaison with clients, Courts, Solicitors, Cafcass and witnesses to address threshold,
- being a confident advocate before the Courts and Tribunals to undertake advocacy at all levels of proceedings where possible.
- Qualified Solicitor or FILEX
- experience in public childcare law and SEN proceedings in either the public or private sector
Location: Legal and Democratic Services
Contractual hours: 37 per week
