The job itself
Bridlington School are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our dynamic science department. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality science education in a thriving and forward-thinking school.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Assist teaching staff during practical sessions and ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
- Maintain and clean laboratory equipment and ensure safe storage of chemicals and resources.
- Support the development of engaging practical activities and demonstrations.
- Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with COSHH and other relevant safety regulations.
Person Specification
- A science-related qualification (e.g. GCSEs, A-levels, or higher) desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience in a laboratory or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting learning.
