Recruitment Assistant (Employment Services Assistant L2)

If you\’re someone with great customer service and an interest in employment law, could our recruitment assistant role be the next step in your career?

Supporting over 600 council services and schools, we\’re looking for someone to join the recruitment team, supporting the wider People Services team to deliver day to day HR functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage recruitment processes for corporate and school vacancies, including advertising and interview correspondence.
  • Attend recruitment events.
  • Complete pre-employment checks and set up new starters on the iTrent payroll system.
  • Process leavers and contractual changes.
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and schools on recruitment procedures.
  • Support job seekers throughout the application process.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is confident using IT systems including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Has excellent customer service skills to support job applicants and recruiting managers.
  • Has strong organisational skills and can prioritise a busy workload to meet deadlines.
  • Is a proactive team player who can also work under their own initiative.
  • Builds positive relationships with colleagues and customers.

The role is mostly agile working with a consistent fortnightly office day and any additional in-person days as required. Applicants need to be comfortable and confident working from home and using MS Teams to communicate effectively. The council also offers flexible working hours to encourage a positive work/life balance.

The job is fixed term for a year due to temporary funding.
