The Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the learning and wellbeing of pupils across the school, with an initial focus on Early Years Foundation Stage. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver high-quality interventions and provide individualised support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted interventions to help pupils achieve their academic and personal development goals, working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, supporting children with social communication and interaction needs, including those with SEND.
  • Act as a key worker for a small group of pupils, monitoring their wellbeing, progress, and engagement, and providing regular feedback to both pupils and staff.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of tailored support programmes, using Makaton where appropriate, to enhance communication and learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour and co-regulation strategies, encouraging acceptance and inclusion among all pupils.
  • Assist with smooth transitions throughout the school day and maintain effective communication with parents and carers.

Minimum qualifications: English and maths GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent, and a Teaching Assistant qualification at NVQ Level 2 (Level 3 and Emergency First Aid/Paediatric qualifications are desirable).
