Service area: Planning and Development Management

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious leader to join our leadership team. We are a high performing planning service and one of the largest Unitary Authorities in the Country with a large professional team of over 100 officers and a track record of delivering high quality sustainable development and infrastructure.

We are looking to appoint a talented, ambitious, and creative professional to help lead our planning team. Working alongside the Planning Manager (West) you will be responsible for all area planning matters and related work. You will be an outstanding communicator who understands what it takes to deliver the best possible service. You will have an excellent technical understanding of the planning process and be able to lead by example and influence others.

This is a key management position within the Planning Service, and you will need to have a degree and have professional MRTPI qualification at full membership level, with relevant experience in Development Management, political awareness and extensive knowledge of best practice in local government with a proven track record of service delivery improvements
