Service area: Economic Development and Communications
The job itself: The Business Centres provide high quality office and workshop accommodation to let to new and small businesses. The team provide a wide range of business support initiatives such as business advice, training and information to support the creation, development and growth of local businesses. We also provide conference and meeting space for the external business community. We now have 8 business centres located across the East Riding.
We are looking to recruit a receptionist and facility co-ordinator to work from any of the business centres on a casual, as and when required basis (mainly to cover holidays and staff absence). You should have a minimum of NVQ Level II in Business Administration or equivalent, have direct experience of working in an office environment (facilities management desirable) and experience of diary management. You should also possess an interest in business, economic growth and developments in the local area. You will be required to work from any one of our business centres so use of a car and willingness to travel is essential.
The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic and have excellent customer care and communication skills agile as the post can be physically demanding and very varied as duties will include setting up the conference and meeting rooms ( ie movement of chairs and tables) and carrying out facility health and safety checks.
You will need to be confident as you will be showing prospective tenants around the business centres and selling the space, good at problem solving and thinking on your feet and IT literate especially with MS Office and Outlook.
