North Cave Church of England Primary School are looking for an individual who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of young people by providing in‑class support for a pupil with high‑level special educational needs and small‑group support. You will work 15 hours 50 minutes per week, from 8:50 am to 12:00 pm Monday to Friday during the school term, with an additional 19.5 hours per year for school training days. Your salary will be £9,462 per annum, paid in 12 equal instalments. The post starts in September 2026 and is a fixed‑term contract until 31 July 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clarify and explain instructions to the pupil.
  • Ensure the pupil can use equipment and materials provided, including moving and handling to meet the child’s individual needs.
  • Assist in identified areas such as language, behaviour, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation, the use of ICT, social skills and EAL.
  • Help pupils concentrate on, and finish, work set.
  • Meet the physical and personal care needs of pupils as required, encouraging independence where appropriate.
  • Liaise with the class teacher and SENCO about individual needs.
  • Develop appropriate resources to support the pupil(s).
