Position Support worker for a 26‑year‑old male with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy who is a full‑time powered wheelchair user with limited use of arms and lives independently. The role involves 12‑hour shifts, both day and night, including the use of a hoist, personal care, meal preparation, dressing, shower assistance, shopping, upkeep of the flat, and driving a wheelchair‑accessible vehicle to enable the client to participate in leisure activities.
Working Hours:
- Alternate Sunday day and night 12‑hour shifts
- Friday night and Saturday day 12‑hour shifts
- Alternate Saturday night 12‑hour shifts
Travel: Some travel across East Riding of Yorkshire may be required; applicants must be able to transport themselves.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must have a valid driving licence.
- Experience with support workers or carers, or similar role.
- Patient, outgoing, positive attitude, and light‑hearted demeanour.
- Subject to an enhanced DBS clearance check.
- Reference checks required; cost covered by the local authority.
