The East Riding of Yorkshire Council are seeking to appoint a Streetscene Administration Assistant to provide general technical support within our Highways team based at Market Weighton. This is a varied and busy role where you will support the Highways team, including maintenance, enforcement and rights of way, in delivering high-quality services.

Duties will include:

  • Handling enquiries
  • Raising service requests
  • Processing invoices and orders
  • Supporting procurement processes
  • Providing general office support

You will be confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office packages, with the ability to input and manage data accurately. You will also provide excellent customer service when dealing with telephone and email enquiries, and help ensure that work is processed efficiently.

The successful candidate will be well organised, able to manage their own workload, and work both independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to confidentiality are essential. Experience or knowledge of local government and particularly streetscene issues will be advantageous.

This is a part-time post of 18.5 hours per week, with working days to be agreed. The post is offered on a fixed-term basis for 2 years.
