We're looking for a Family Help - Senior Practitioner to join our dedicated team in East Riding of Yorkshire Council. This is a key role within the Family Help service, supporting the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, and strengths-based interventions for families at Level 3 of the East Riding Framework of Support.

As a Senior Practitioner, you’ll:

  • Lead on complex cases, undertaking whole-family assessments and developing tailored, outcome-focused plans.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and evidence-based programmes to children and parents.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Family Help Practitioners, supporting reflective practice and service development.
  • Deputise for Team Managers and represent the service in key thematic areas.
  • Work intensively with families to build trust, reduce risk, and empower positive change.
  • Promote multi-agency working and ensure effective information sharing across partners.

This is a frontline leadership role where your expertise, creativity, and commitment to trauma-informed practice will be vital in achieving better outcomes for children and families.

What We’re Looking For

  • Holds a diploma or degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent).
  • Has extensive experience working with children, young people, and families with complex and high-risk needs.
  • Can lead multi-agency casework and deliver group and individual interventions.
  • Has experience mentoring or supporting staff and promoting best practice.
  • Understands safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Is flexible, values-driven, and committed to continuous professional development.
  • Holds a full driving licence and has access to a vehicle.
