Mount Pleasant Junior School are looking to recruit a Kitchen Assistant to support our Cook and team in the day to day operation of our busy school kitchen. The position will involve preparing, cooking and serving over 130 meals a day.
This post will suit someone who would like experience of working in a school catering environment. Primarily you will assist in food preparation, transferring food to serving containers, washing up and cleaning duties, also presenting and serving food in accordance with good practice in hygiene and health and safety requirements. The ideal candidate will desirably hold a qualification in food hygiene or be willing to attend courses to gain the appropriate knowledge and skills.
You will need to be a team player who can work to a high standard, whilst being approachable, enthusiastic and committed to working with the catering team and the school. You will need to be flexible to ensure cover is available in the absence of colleagues, but typically, the hours are 11.00am – 1.30pm Monday to Friday during term time only.
Mount Pleasant is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS Check along with social media checks before interview.
