Support is required for a friendly, easy-going, highly independent 30-year-old woman with Cerebral Palsy and a full-time wheelchair user.

A reliable, supportive Personal Assistant who is patient, calm-natured, and easy to get along with is required.

A positive and relaxed working relationship is important to this lady.

The role involves a mixture of practical support with daily living tasks, assistance with physiotherapy/wellbeing, supporting her at the gym and with her nutrition needs and support to attend appointments, activities and social outings.

A calm and reassuring manner is essential due to the lady experiencing anxiety at times.

The location is within 5 miles of Howden.

About the Role

The number of working days per week is flexible and can be discussed at interview.

Working days are flexible and can be agreed together on interview.

This may include weekdays and/or occasional weekend support.

Flexibility is important, particularly for prearranged appointments.

Working times are agreed in advance, providing flexibility while maintaining consistent weekly hours.

Some days may involve shorter visits, while others may involve longer due to appointments or outings.

Duties May Include

  • Assistance with personal care (to be discussed in detail on interview).
  • Support with exercises - at home and at the gym.
  • Meal preparation and assistance at mealtimes - this will include batch cooking from scratch.
  • Medication organisation.
  • Driving to appointments.
  • Support with gym / activities.
  • Assistance with transfers when required.
  • Support with social outings and activities.
  • Occasional assistance with phone calls or paperwork.

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Comfortable driving a Motability vehicle.
  • Able to lift a manual wheelchair into a car.
  • Comfortable attending and supporting at the gym.
