A gentleman in Hessle is looking for support workers. Support needs include:
- Middle stage Alzheimer's
- Limited mobility
- Doubly incontinent (can sometimes use the toilet if taken)
Male enjoys music, singing and sport.
Responsibilities:
- Sat & Sun only - 9.30 - 10.30: Get up/shower/dress/breakfast/medication/make or change bed = 2 hours
- Fri, Sat & Sun - 1.15 - 1.45: Help out of the chair to move around/toilet = 1.5 hours
- Fri, Sat & Sun - 5.30 - 6.00: Put to bed = 1.5 hours
Qualities required:
- Kind, caring, compassionate and respectful with an understanding of dementia
- Previous experience essential
- A happy sociable person who can communicate well with the individual's wife
The Direct Payments Support Service is an in-house service provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The service promotes independent choice and inclusion, allowing our service users to employ their own care and support as needed. We support many individuals with varying abilities, assisting with advertising and recruitment for a range of roles including support workers, carers and personal assistants.
A genuine occupational requirement for a male worker exists for this post under the Equality Act 2010 due to privacy and decency.
