We are looking to recruit to the role of caretaker based at Eastgate, Goole, however there may be a requirement to carry out duties across other sites if needed.

The main duties of the role are to ensure that all communal areas (both internal and external) are maintained and are safe and secure. This includes the daily checking of stairwells and outside areas (including drying areas and bin stores), undertaking general ground maintenance and being a point of contact for police (and other agencies) when access to the onsite CCTV is requested.

The caretaker supports both the area housing management and maintenance teams and is expected to carry out a range of handyperson tasks associated with the maintenance of the site so that facilities are safe and functional, which may include some straightforward carpentry and plumbing works.

The successful candidate will need a full driving licence, good interpersonal skills and excellent time management. The role is an exciting opportunity to join the council in a position that will support residents in their homes, but also allows the role holder to manage their own workload, attend resident meetings, and work collaboratively with the management team and residents to improve the services we provide.
