Fixed Term Teaching Assistant (Level 2)
Location: Dunswell Academy, Beverley Rd, Dunswell, HU6 0AD.
Employment type: Fixed‑term (Due to Budget Constraints).
Hours: Full‑time or Part‑time (32.5 hours per week) Monday to Friday.
Salary: £18,808 per year (term time pro rata); full‑time role: £25,583 (£13.26 per hour) from 9 September 2026.

We are looking for an inspirational teaching assistant who has:
- A good level of English and Maths (GSCE or equivalent)
- A minimum of a Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification
- Experience of working with children in an educational setting
The role involves supporting children with a variety of needs, including SEN, and requires patience, adaptability and resilience.
Responsibilities:
- Support children with a variety of needs, including SEN.
- Provide classroom and teaching support during term time, following the schedule:
- Full‑time role Monday to Friday 08:45–12:00 and 12:30–15:45
- Part‑time role Monday 08:45–12:00 and 13:00–15:45, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 08:45–12:00.
- Support social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Follow bespoke individual plans.
- Collaborate with the teaching staff as part of a team.
Qualifications:
- Good level of English and Maths (GSCE or equivalent).
- Minimum Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification.
- Experience of working with children in an educational setting.
- Desirable: experience with additional needs and supporting social, emotional and mental health needs.
Subject to an enhanced DBS clearance check.
