We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable, and caring individual to join our midday team, working three days per week (2 hours per day, 11:45 am – 1:45 pm). The specific days will be confirmed.

The role involves serving lunches to children with various special needs during the lunchtime period. Responsibilities include transporting meals from the main school site to the Student Centre on the Driffield School site (approximately a 2.2-mile return journey) using your own vehicle, preparing food for serving, checking temperatures, and recording results.

You will be part of Kings Mill\’s experienced team, with support, guidance, and training provided. The successful candidate must complete online Level 2 Food Safety training and allergen awareness training if they do not already hold valid certificates.

Applicants must have a valid driving license, access to a vehicle, and appropriate business use insurance.

For an informal discussion or to arrange a visit, please contact Lisa Brown, School Business Manager, at 01377 253375 or via email: kingsmill.specialschool@eastriding.gov.uk.

The school and residence are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a self-declaration regarding any criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. An online search will also be conducted.

You must be able to explain any gaps in your employment or education history and have the legal right to work in the UK. Appointments are subject to satisfactory disclosure checks at an enhanced level by the Disclosure and Barring Service, along with other background checks including professional references.

We adhere to all principles of safer recruitment as outlined in the DfE document \”Keeping Children Safe in Education\” (current version).

Further information about our safeguarding commitment can be found in our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy, available in the policies section of our website: www.kingsmillschool.co.uk.
